On Sep. 5, Korean School of Federal Way welcomed students and families to a new and exciting year of learning at its on-campus Drive-Thru Meet & Greet!

From the comfort of their own cars, families were greeted by volunteers bearing gifts of tasty rice cakes and packs of face masks.
The procession of cars wound its way to the top of the curb, where students exchanged hellos and chatted with their teachers while also receiving welcome packets containing school books and other study materials.
In future weeks, they will be meeting virtually through Zoom classes, so the Drive-Thru Meet & Greet presented a wonderful opportunity for students and families to see themselves as part of a larger school community, which isn’t so readily apparent in a virtual class setting.

In order to ensure the smooth operation of its new remote-learning program, Korean School of Federal Way has reduced its enrollment this fall semester to 192 students split among 15 classes.
The online learning format has attracted students from far-flung places, such as Texas, New Jersey, and California, further diversifying an already eclectic student population.
In spite of the major alterations brought on by COVID-19 this year, KSFW teachers and administrators are skillfully adapting to these changes and are confident about coordinating yet another successful year of learning!
